Geometry Using chromium plated DT15V steel, the Colnago Master has star-shaped tubes and chromed lugs that do more than just look cool and different compared to big-tubed carbon bikes. The design of these tubes actually reduces twisting under load for less lateral flex while maintaining vertical compliance for a comfy ride. The frame is heavier than bikes of other materials, but gives more confidence with its stable feel on sketchy ground and better responsiveness than many carbon fiber bikes. It flies downhill with more control and reduces the chatter of the road with its compliance. Because it is made of steel, this bike is also more easily repaired. It can be repaired after virtually any accident allowing you to ride this bike for the rest of your life. It uses a geometry that is applicable to different styles of riding, falling in-between an aggressive race position and a more upright endurance position. The bike has an Italian threaded bottom bracket and uses a classic, 1-inch chrome plated Precisa straight-blade fork.

The chaos has been compared to the thriller film The Purge, where people take advantage of the absence of law and order to carry out horrific crimes. With officers staging a walk-out over conditions, thugs are running riot, with people running rampant with guns and machetes, shops being robbed, buses set on fire and dead bodies are left lying in the street.

The defence ministry said soldiers were being sent in ‘due to the serious public safety situation’.

She competed in the races of the time, in her home state of California, on this extraordinary 20 lb full Nuovo Record Campagnolo machine, riding tubular Fiamme rims laced to high flange Campagnolo Nuovo Record hubs. When she stopped racing, she swapped out the wheelset for a more useful clincher set with a wider gearing ratio, shown below. Amazingly, it is still lovely and appears easily restorable to its original glory.
Such a bike, if sold on eBay, would simply be stripped into its separate parts and re-sold at a profit, because it is now true that a complete bike is worth less than the sum of its parts. But, not for Tina. She would like the bike to go to someone who will keep it intact and enjoy riding it.

The Bianchi Specialissima is a perfect mix of classic and contemporary, although there are some handling quirks. Or coloured like a Milanese sky in mid-summer? A water bottle will require something different from a titanium bolt, for example. This is a striking beast indeed, and the ride is as charismatically wild. That is, while stock colours and builds are available, the Specialissima also comes as a frameset, to be painted and specced how you choose.
This Dura-Ace-equipped Specialissima is stock, snubbing the notion that Italian bikes need Italian groupsets. I raise this with Bianchi product designer, Angelo Lecchi: One customer asked anyway, but we did not recommend. Anything else is akin to owning a Ferrari in a colour other than red. Weights and wheels Colour aside, the Specialissima cuts a fine profile.
Its tube shapes appear modern yet with an occasional nod to bicycles of yesteryear with an almost horizontal top tube. A claimed g for the frame and g for the fork helps this 55cm build dust the Cyclist scales at just 6.

It felt slow to me, but on top of hard-packed snow it just cruised. I had the chance to ride the first snow bike that Erik ever made. That Peacock Groove bike was a hoot to ride around through the Minneapolis autumn leaves, and I understood what a game changer a bike like that would be for a cyclist who had to endure a midwest winter.
Colnago’s innuendo-laden tweet sparked outrage on Twitter, with users branding the firm ‘sexist’ and ‘old fashioned’. The Italian firm has been forced to apologise.
I inherited a Tommasini Diamante from my father and I am not sure what to do with it. I will never ride it and it would be too small for me if I did. I am having trouble finding out any info on the frame so I thought I would as Tommasini Tecno decals Bought this frame from a member with only two glaring issues as shown, the balance of the frame is amazing so I bought the frame for the boy for a joint project when he gets back. We have a frame builder who says he can square up the decals and splice on part of a new one if I can get a match, b Tommasini Comp This is a 56cm Tommasini Comp frame that has likely been repainted sometime in it’s life by a previous owner relatively recently as the paint is mint.
A “Prestige” decal is present on the top tube, but this is actually a “Comp” model. I presume the correct “Comp” decal was not available in the Used for ITTs unique. Will sell with Bontrager 6. Classic and stunning lines. It’s time for some Tommasini pics Here is my new build.
In the early s, Ernesto Colnago created the Master frameset, which would go on to be one of the company’s best-selling and most loved models in the range. The Arabesque, released in , was the quieter cousin that only enjoyed a short production run of one year. That made the Arabesque a collector’s item and the new version of this model promises to be no different, thanks to the signature lugs.
Mar 07, · Colnago moved to the SCIC team as framebuilder, and rival Ugo de Rosa built Merckx frames from then on (eventually helping Merckx start his own frame workshop after he stopped racing). Colnago continued to build frames, regarded as ‘the Ferrari of bikes’ (not least because he often collaborated with the sports car maker).
History History Bianchi, the world’s oldest bicycle manufacturing company still in existence, will be celebrating it’s th anniversary this year. They recently signed a new contract with the Italy-based communication and marketing agency Vitesse. Lets hope that is an indication that special anniversary products will be coming our way this year.
The history of Bianchi: The deep innovative zeal distinguished him above all the constructors of his era. His first idea, conceived years ago, was to reduce the diameter of the front wheel and balance the gap of the motion with the application of a chain, which had just been invented by the Frenchman Vincent, and then to lower down the height of the pedals. And so “Safety” was born: One of the main advantages of this new means of transport was stability: Then Edoardo designed a similar vehicle, whose wheel diameter was further reduced and which had both front and rear wheels almost of the same size.

So let me say straight away, without qualification and without prejudice for the marque of my own peculiar passion, that this is an important and excellent book. The book operates on two different levels. First, visually, this is a catalog of handmade steel bicycles, covering a century, documented and beautifully photographed. Second, intentionally, this is a call to arms.
The book is presented from an Australian point of view:
Unfortunately, there are no tubing stickers present on the frame. At first, I thought this bike dated to the late ’s, but Tina wasn’t quite sure in what year she purchased the bike. The above photo shows that the Campagnolo NR rear derailleur has “Patent” stamped into its body.
A compatible SRM has been slow to hit the market, and many riders are using the older version on their Shimano-equipped bikes. This year, the Spanish squad rides the newest version of the Pinarello Dogma Team riders have two choices for road stages: Notice the small diameter of the chainstays, just one of the places where BH was able to shed weight without compromising stiffness.
Sojasun is also one of the only teams in the race to have been spotted using Shimano Dura-Ace mechanical shifters on some of their bikes. To save weight, Felt sourced carbon fiber from a Swedish company who had manufactured more refined grades of the material for auto-racing. The resulting frame and its BB30 bottom bracket shell and tapered headtube keep the weight down while producing a bike stiff enough to win Tour de France field sprints.
While the paint job has changed, the frame remains the same. The SuperSix is perhaps the most versatile bike in the race, a favorite of both sprinters and climbers—so much so that Cannondale has yet to offer an aero road frame as many other companies have. After spending last season and the first half of this season riding speed Dura-Ace Di2 components, the team upgraded to speed just before the Tour. Colnago M10S — Europcar Riders at Europcar can choose between the C59, a frameset made with carbon tubes joined by carbonb lugs, or the M10S, a monocoque frameset.
Built using new laminates and materials, the M10S is designed to be both light and stiff. A larger bottom bracket shell and tapered headtube increase lateral rigidity while still allowing the bike to cushion road vibrations. A tapered headtube adds rigidity to the front of the bike to improve handling, while an oversized BB bottom bracket shell lends stiffness to the drivetrain, improving power transfer.

The Colnago M10 has landed! The Colnago M10 has been a frame I have very much wanted to test ride for sometime now. As a brand, I feel FSA have come on leaps and bounds. They have a reported weight of g. Having recently returned from Cambiago, I had a long conversation with Ernesto about this frame. I was intrigued to know more about this full monocouque design. Also, this allows Colnago to know exactly who built the frame which is pretty unique in this day and age.
Colnago are fully committed to this operation and have even established an office out in Taiwan. All the carbon fibre used to make the M10 is sourced from Toray Carbon who are one of the world leaders in carbon fibre production and technology. Then and only then, are they prepared for the Paint-shop which is based in Florence, Italy. Having seen these frames in the flesh and raw form in Italy, it was extremely interesting to see at first hand the inspection process. Once the frames have been painted, they are again inspected and then sent out to Colnago customers and distributors world-wide!
However, Ernesto wanted to produce a high end full monocouque frame. The M10 is indeed quite a robust looking frame, but its also the lightest carbon frame in the range.

Please contact me at: Columbus SL The Benotto top frames were built in Italy and very highly regarded in the s and early 80s. Benotto sponsored a pro team and the model was essentially a Team replica. This frame is really very special — take a look at the lug shorelines and filing and the little point to the front of the seat lug. It is frequently asserted that these frames were built by De Rosa — it is not true though there were some Team frames back in the s that were… However they did adopt some similar features such as the triangular shaped chainstays and heart cutout in the BB shell; on the other hand the fork crown is pure Pela… However these top of the range Benottos are exceptionally nice.
FRAME CLAMPS AND BRAZE-ONS. Braze-ons are brackets that, through the process of brazing or silver soldering, are permanently attached to a frame set. Braze-ons began appearing on bicycle frame sets, in an effort to replace the Old School clamp-on assemblies.
In these cases examination of the frame number — where it is, what it is, and how it is, may be of some assistance at least in allowing other specialists to hazard a guess at the true origin of the frame or machine. These publications have been invaluable in adding accuracy to the information — but even including their data there are still well over makes of possible lightweights to be confused over!
The author would be grateful to know of any inaccuracies and to receive further information to make the tables more comprehensive. For example, some BSA frames have BSA and a 3 or 4 figure number cast into the base of the BB, this is just the casting number or perhaps a model number — it is not the frame number. Nervex, the lug maker, also had their name on their BB lugs with a long design serial number.
Make a note of where on the BB the number is and its orientation — for example, is it upright or inverted for reading when lifting the front wheel up with the rear wheel still on the ground? Is it central or on the left or right flange of the BB as seen from this upright view? Some builders stamped the numbers parallel to the edge of the BB, yet others are random when compared over the years.
Most builders also stamped the frame number on the steerer tube of the front forks — but you may not wish to strip the machine down for this and in any case the forks may have been changed over the years. It can be worthy of note however that as sometimes very thick layers of paint can make the main frame number difficult to read —the steerer tube number is the only reliable evidence! Granby before used to punch the number on the underside of the head tube —along the bottom edge of the fork crown.
