This will keep it from being filtered out as spam. Payments made by Paypal should be made to the account under our email address: Described below is the supercharger kit that we developed starting in and offered for many years after.
Its compact size, availability of inexpensive performance parts, and power potential made it an easy choice. These simple facts make it the go-to choice for thousands of other car builders as well. Times change, and although the small-block Chevy has not lost its luster, the thought of building a traditionally styled, open hood hot rod with this proven power plant just seemed to destine the project to look like so many others.
Category: DynoTech Sunday, May 10, DynoTech: Fuel Volatility–how it affects performance. FUEL VOLATILITY Jim Czekala, DynoTech Research “Gasoline doesn’t burn. The vapor of the liquid gasoline burns, and that’s extremely important to remember when you are thinking about controlling combustion in a gasoline engine”.
The rebuild never seems to last and some of the areas like leaking around linkage and dry gaskets are often not fixable. They are too complicated, too hard to adjust, and in a difficult place to work on. I have a new engine, is the old carb still correct for the heavy breather? With a closed loop control, this should be adjusted automatically.
I think basically, I hate carburetors. These are the parts to be added. Need to get under the wheel wells and do some work so it is suggested to raise the front of the coach. I feel safer with it up on blocks and this was enough height. This picture shows that it is necessary to put a block or stand under the rear of the GMC when ever you are under the rear.
We are the third owners and have had this wonderful GMC for 17 years. It has always been garaged and is in excellent condition. Solid walnut cabinets, roof air conditioning and 6kw Onan generator. Cared for as a family member.

The throttle body looks remarkably like a Holley carb, which is great for anyone wanting classic looks and modern performance. Much of the system is encased right inside the throttle body—and that includes the ECU. It flows cfm and can support up to horsepower. Holley figured out a way to mount the ECU within the throttle body.
Internally, the throttle body is fitted with four injectors just like the Stealth system. It incorporates a built-in fuel-pressure regulator pre-set at Fuel is delivered conventionally to the throttle body. Included in the kit are throttle cable brackets for either stick-shift or automatic transmission applications. The automatic pieces allow for the installation of a kick-down assembly. The fuel inlet can be configured in multiple ways, but the easiest way is to use the as-produced setup.
Just like a carburetor, the throttle body is fitted with multiple vacuum ports: There are three vacuum ports on the Sniper throttle body: The large one is for power brakes while the other two are for manifold vacuum or ported vacuum. The gaskets and hardware install just as they would on a carbureted application.

This trans swapping guide is for early Chevrolet iron and concentrates particularly on first- and second-generation Camaros. It may be the most complete resource guide the crack Chevy High Performance editorial staff has ever created. We have gone to great lengths to supply you with as much swapping information as could be dug up.
The TH is a bolt-in replacement for a PG, making this swap a relatively straightforward one that requires no crossmember or driveshaft modifications. This swap is pretty straightforward in any early Chevy, considering that TH s were optional in most of them. If your vehicle ever came equipped stock with a TH trans, then you could pick up a crossmember from the scrap yard or a source like Classic Industries, which would allow the TH to bolt right into your stock frame.
And the same shifter can be used to control either a TH or TH Another benefit of these overdrive transmissions was that they featured a much deeper First-gear ratio, giving improved acceleration off the line. Today, the three-speed automatic transmission is extinct and all new GM cars and trucks come with overdrive four-speed automatics, making them easy to find and relatively affordable. This swap requires minimal fabrication skills and very little in the way of custom modifications.
The TH is equipped with a removable tailshaft housing that has varied in length for different vehicles over different years. This tailshaft housing puts the mounting pad almost in line with the original TH pad and usually requires only slight elongation of the mounting holes to fit. We recommend mocking up your installation with the TH R4 trans in place and then taking measurements to determine how long your new driveshaft will need to be before having it cut.
A History: ’s Word of the Year
Nearly 22 years ago now. Today, it has 95, miles. A large percentage of that 58, mile difference has been off-road in the Pacific Northwest. The rest has been getting to and from the trail-head to leave the pavement.
The is designed as a stock replacement for 2BBL street applications as well as being mandated for some oval track racing sanctioning bodies.
Dynatek developed its Classic Fuel Injection CFI system from the desire to combine the classic good looks of downdraft Weber IDA carburetors with the precision tuning and performance offered by electronic fuel injection. What kits are available? Dodge applications include the new 5. What extras or options are available?
Options include ported intake manifolds worth up to 40 hp , a stainless braided fuel system including an adjustable fuel pressure regulator , and a complete conversion kit for retrofitting CFI in a vehicle originally equipped with carburetion. Additional options include polishing, chrome plating, and powdercoating of the intake manifold and throttle bodies. How do I tune it? The CFI system comes with a library of preprogrammed tunes for a wide variety of different engine displacements and combinations but can be tuned using a standard laptop computer.
Since the CFI system incorporates closed-loop operation, the idle, part-throttle, and cruise conditions will be optimized by the ECU. What else will I need to get my car on the road? The kit includes all the necessary components including a high-pressure fuel pump, lines, filters, and fittings to allow installation of the system on a vehicle.
Installing FAST’s EZ-EFI Fuel Injection System
One third of the valve cover extends over the intake casting, and the pushrods run through cast or machined passages in the manifold. The FE manifolds are comparatively wide and heavy, and have numerous machined surfaces that interface with the heads, block, distributor, valvetrain, and valve covers. With an original manufacturing and performance use history that extends over a year period, virtually every intake fashion and style has been produced for the FE, albeit in far fewer variations than for the more popular engines.
The builder can choose from original or aftermarket; single 4-barrel, dual-quad, three 2-barrels, six 2-barrels; tunnel rams or cross rams; single plane or dual plane; aluminum or iron.
DECISIONS, DECISIONS With the choice made to build an early Hemi, we then decided on the DeSoto, in part due to its smaller overall dimensions (making it a little easier to squeeze between the rails of an early ’30s car) and somewhat because of my personal fondness for DeSotos.
Remove the distributor cap, right valve cover and the 4 cyl rocker arms and pedestal. Set up a dial gauge on the 4 intake push rod. Rotate the engine to TDC 1 cylinder. If the dial reads thousands, your valve timing is right. If the dial reads thousands, your valve timing is retarded or your chain is streched. If the dial reads thousands, your valve timing is to far advanced. These s are for stock engines and wouldn’t work for engines with aftermarket cams.
By inducing high voltage in the tube, the gas is ionized and thereby lights up. In the case of plug wires glowing, the Corona effect can happen when atmospheric conditions are right. Thereby causing the glow. Since this is a breakdown of the surrounding air not the wires it will not affect ignition performance.
Holley Sniper EFI System is Easy, Budget-Friendly Path to Fuel Injection
Carburetors are good for peak horsepower, but performance-car owners now want drivability, fuel economy and throttle response. We had one conversion that gained seven mpg, but that depends on a lot of factors. The litmus test for simplicity was time. Using common hand tools found in any enthusiast’s garage, we set a conservative goal of a weekend to change from a carbureted fuel system to EFI.
A Collection Of The Most Popular Electronic Fuel-Injection Systems In The Aftermarket. The benefits and shortcomings of EFI versus carburetion is a hot and ongoing battle in the hot rod community.
Motochris’s Photo Album New Demon “Street Demon” cfm carb Just thought I’de share my thoughts about this new carb since there seems to be little info on it out there so far. I went thru all the typical BS with trying to tune the stumble that carb is known to have. Ended up way rich on the primary jets, plus a good amount of tuning to the accel pump to get most of it away. It wasn’t perfect by any means, but it was something you could deal with.
Stomp on it and it was great.. The fuel milage sucked with the primary’s as they were too. I have had good luck with the Edelbrock carbs and drivability and was planning on going that direction, just never got around to it over that last year or two. I saw the ad for this new Street Demon and it looked like it might fit the bill..
The Century Coronado was a true thoroughbred and offered many unique, automotive influenced design attributes. Foot pedal throttle and shifter on the column! Capable of speeds exceeding 50mph; the Coronado was a boat that dominated the lake. This model has been painstakingly restored.

Be sure to save the illustrations separately. The opinions expressed here are my experiences, and your experiences may vary. I don’t put myself forward as the world’s leading expert on Holleys, but I do have some helpful ideas. In some cases, I may not be able to answer specific questions, but I’ll do my best. I know very little about other brands of carburetors and have no information about them, only general operating principles.
I have NO experience with any type of supercharger or turbocharger, so please don’t ask me anything about your blower or turbo applications. The following few paragraphs is a set of rules I had to create because people were emailing me without enough information or asking really stupid questions that I had no way to answer.
